August 17 Map & Colourful Markets!
It's the most
wonderful colourful time
of the year!
August at the farmers' market is really a rainbow of food. There are still spring-like shades of green (herbs and lettuce), summer hues of red and purple (radishes and beets), and glimpses of autumn yellow and orange (corn and heirloom tomatoes). At this time of year, the Plaza is overflowing with colour and the widest variety of veggies. Enjoy it while it lasts!
Did you know Prairie Smoke & Spice BBQ does breakfast?? While it's perfectly fine to have a pulled pork sandwich first thing in the morning, Prairie Smoke added a new menu item this summer for all the brunch-types out there. With two eggs, a pile of roasted potatoes and your choice of pulled pork or brisket, this meal won't leave you hungry. We're all aware that the smoked meat is always divine, but I feel the real star of this dish is a bit unexpected – the side of roasted potatoes and red peppers! They're flavourful and smoky with the melt-in-your-mouth texture that perfectly roasted potatoes tend to have. I think Prairie Smoke is the reason I crave breakfast for supper.
We're just a little over a week away from our third and final Market Under the Stars of 2016! Come out to the Plaza on Thursday, August 25, from 5:00 to 10:00 pm and enjoy the evening with us. There will be live music, food and liquor tasting, salsa dancing, and yoga. Click HERE for complete event details.
