June 18 Map & Strawberries!

Fruits and vegetables always taste better when they're in season. Peaches are juicier, carrots are crunchier and strawberries are sweeter. You can test the strawberries for yourself–Southland Colony will have some tomorrow! I love strawberries, but here's my problem: I always buy too many! My favourite way to eat them is sliced, macerated with sugar and then used as a topping on any kind of dessert. At a certain point, my I-bought-too-many strawberries get a little too ripe for fresh eating. If (I mean, when) it happens to me again, I have a plan. They're going into a sangria with Living Sky Winery rhubarb wine! Problem solved.

During tomorrow's market, you'll have the opportunity to support another awesome local organization–Queen City Pride. Set up on Scarth St. from 9 am to 1 pm will be the Community Fair, Queen City Pride's annual display of non-profit community organizations and services. From Queen City Pride's Facebook Page:

"Discover Regina’s LGBTQ-focused community service and resource providers. Meet organizations providing services like wellness, counselling, sexual health, research, and much more. This year's Community Fair will be located next to the Regina Farmer's Market on 12th Avenue at Scarth Street."

Tomorrow will be an exciting day for fans of Pusch Bros. and Auntie Meme's Cakes, because both are BACK! Also returning: Beyond Naturals, Pile of Bones Beard Care Co., Sadza Arts & Craft, Latino Bake Shop, Ponderosa Alpaca, Prairie Engraving, and The Healthy Grind. Along with strawberries, Southland Colony will also have chickens and eggs.

Food Trucks: Mr. Spudd's Poutinerie, Baba's Food Spot and Nacho Fiesta.

Check the Vendor LIST to see all in attendace and refer to the Market MAP for vendor locations.
