Street Beets Nov. 21, 2015: Kids' Club with RDBID, Herbs, Lentils, & Market Map

Did you miss out on the collaborative mural with Regina Downtown BID (RDBID) last Saturday? Don't worry - RDBID is back for this week's RFM Kids' Club! Kids can add to the mural as well as make a paper reindeer to take home. Big kids are welcome, too, because apparently "adult colouring" is a cool thing to do these days. :)

Craving soups and stews in this weather? Add extra nutrients, like protein and iron, by adding lentils. Don't know how to cook with lentils? No problem - Hazel and David of Pure T Organics have recipe cards already prepared (as you can see on the right of the photo). Of course, lentils don't have to be made into soup; they have recipes for other things, like salad, as well. And Pure T Organics doesn't just offer lentils; they also have peas, barley, spelt and more. Visit David on Saturday to see his full line of products and the recipes provided.

This photo of Pure T Organics products was posted on Instagram and received some love from Heather (@wildflower.12):

"The best pulse products around! I've special ordered all the way from Nova Scotia! I'm originally from Regina, I only study in the maritimes. One of my professors does quite a bit of research on pulses and I had brought him a bag of Pure T Organics pulse mix and he is now obsessed with it. I'm happy to introduce my hometown's local goods to the rest of the country!"

Including this Saturday, there are only 5 MARKETS LEFT in 2015! Here's a bit of what you can expect on Saturday, Nov. 21:

  • these dried herbs & spices from @millersbygonefarm

  • veggies from Floating Gardens, Heliotrope Farms, Pusch Bros., and Frontier Gardens

  • frozen berries from Loon Creek Saskatoons

  • Earthy Artisan hypertufa pots

  • NEW vendors: Reem's Kitchen and Amarah Elizabeth

  • 40 vendors in attendance!

CLICK HERE to view the Market Map. Keep in mind that SalayView Farm will be retiring from RFM as soon as they run out of cheese; you may want to stock up sooner rather than later. The Wa Wa Shriners will be hosting a pancake breakfast in the basement during the Market. Breakfast is from 8 am to noon. $6.00 includes pancakes, sausage and coffee or juice.

See you at Market!
