Street Beets September 2nd, 2015: Cookies, Corn, Vendor Map, & Hello September!

It's already September and RFM is still going strong. Many think that a farmers' market is strictly a summer event, but not for us! We're out on the Plaza until October 10th and then we move indoors, at 2065 Hamilton St., from October 17th to December 19th.

I call these summery little appetizers "Salsa Verde Skewers" and all of the ingredients are still available. You can get tomatillos from Heliotrope or Rocky Acres Orchard, cilantro from Floating Gardens, red onion from almost anyone, and jalapeños from Rocky Acres Orchard or Kangro Gardening. It's optional, but I like to sprinkle them with sea salt before serving.

Delores from D'licious Treats is passionate about baking. Her goal at every market is to see the smile on your face when you bite into her chocolate chip cookie with extra chips, or her banana cream cookie with extra icing. Many of her treats are individually wrapped, so you can have something special on the go. This heart-shaped tray contains Delores' homemade oreos; who doesn't love those‽

Mr. Spudd's Poutinerie has added a new item to the menu — corn on the cob! Fresh Lincoln Gardens corn is boiled, coated in butter, sprinkled with salt (if you like), and handed to you, still hot, to enjoy right on the Plaza. At tomorrow's Market, Kevin will be expecting you for lunch!

CLICK HERE for the Vendor Map. Zoom in to read names. Name Your Nuts, Rusty's Wild Rice and Sadza Arts & Crafts (African inspired) are in attendance. Golden Prairie Wild Boar is not. For food trucks, we'll have: Bon Burger, Mr. Spudd's Poutinerie, Nacho Fiesta, Prairie Dawg, and Crave. It's getting close to Rosie the Flower Truck's last day, so make sure you stop there.

See you at Market!
