Top 7 Things That Set Regina Farmers' Market Apart

There are many exciting events in Regina, but only one Regina Farmers’ Market. Here are 7 things that make us special, in our humble opinion:

#7 – Exceptional Product Quality & Diversity

The RFM offers many of the highest quality Saskatchewan products available. We also offer a varied shopping experience at EVERY market, with a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables; meat; eggs; plants; honey; flour, pulses and grains; bread and baking; spirits, wine and beer; ethnic foods, prepared foods and beverages; vegetarian, vegan and allergen-free foods; art and craft items; as well as bath, body, and home products. This year, we even added toilet paper to the list! Pictured: Black Fox Farm & Distillery spirits

#6 – We Make an Event Out of Every Market

The Regina Farmers’ Market isn’t just a shopping experience. Whether you’re enjoying a hot lunch, buskers, and balloon animals on a beautiful day outside on City Square Plaza, or sitting down for coffee, brunch, and childrens’ activities at our indoor venue, the Regina Farmers’ market is a family-friendly community hub unlike any other in our city. Pictured: RFM on City Square Plaza, May 31, 2017

#5 – Only the Best Become Vendors

The goal of the Regina Farmers’ Market is to offer only the highest quality local products. Every vendor that has joined the market in the last five years has gone through a rigorous application and approval process. Our Applications Committee requires product samples from all prospective vendors, which we use to ensure that product quality, packaging, and labeling meet Regina Farmers’ Market standards. Pictured: Do Si Donuts

#4 – Health Inspection & Labeling Standards

Not only does the Regina Farmers’ Market put all vendors through a rigorous approval process, but we also have a detailed Labeling Policy that all vendors are required to follow. In addition, all our prepared food is approved by the Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region. Before new vendors can attend the Regina Farmers’ Market, RQHR health inspectors ensure that all high-risk products are prepared in licensed facilities. And health inspectors regularly conduct random inspections at the market to ensure products are being transported and stored in safe conditions. Pictured: Sweet Tree honey chocolate syrup

#3 – The People

The Regina Farmers’ Market is a non-profit co-operative organization governed by a Board of Directors elected by, and made up of, Regina Farmers’ Market vendors. All our Board members are local producers themselves, who bring their expertise as independent business people to the table when leading the Regina Farmers’ Market. Pictured: Melanie of Beyond Naturals & Michelle of Zee-Bee Honey

#2 – Everything is Made, Baked, Grown & Designed in SK

All Regina Farmers’ Market products are produced in Saskatchewan. We have strict criteria that requires our vendors to make, bake, grow, or design their products right here at home, ensuring that our customers have a truly local shopping experience. (Our one exception? Kim’s Fresh Fruit offers seasonal BC fruit that our SK farmers can’t grow!) Pictured: Rocky Acres Orchard okra

#1 – We’re 42 Years Old

The Regina Farmers’ Market was incorporated as a non-profit co-operative in 1975, and we’ve been growing and evolving ever since. Founded by local farmers, we remain the only officially designated “farmers’ market” in Regina, and we take our long history as Regina’s best source of local Saskatchewan food seriously. Pictured: 2004 article featuring retired vendor, Linda's Jams & Jellies
