Outdoor Farmers' Market
Aug 18, 2018
RFM News: August 18
We’d like to dedicate this market to the memory of Summer Hartzfeld, an RFM member since 1997, who passed away last week. Former Market Manager, Ada Heerschop (Bennett) wrote a beautiful tribute about Summer. Click here to read it:
And it looks we’ll have a beautiful summer market in memory of our friend. Aside from the usual gorgeous forecast, we also have some special treats at tomorrow’s market and a fabulous Flok reward. Read on, for all the details!
Hot and Fresh Gluten-free Waffles: Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and what better way to kick off your day than with waffles? Our pals Blue Rose Gluten Free Baking are bringing their waffle A-game to market tomorrow with pumpkin and mocha flavoured waffles! The waffles are both gluten-free AND dairy-free, and the best part: Blue Rose will be making them on-site tomorrow at City Square Plaza. Warm, fresh waffles; local shopping...need we say more?
Fresh Pastries, Baked On-Site: Our friends Chimney Cake are back tomorrow with their delicious pastries (pictured below), and they will also be baking on-site tomorrow. Not only will you be able to see how these cylindrical sweets are made, but you’ll also be able to have them fresh off the roll! We can taste the cinnamon & sugar already.
Flok Reward—Get Pickling! Are you looking to preserve a peck of pickles? If you’ve got 20 #Flok punches, redeem them tomorrow for a FREE 2lb bag of pickling cucumbers from Mitchell’s All Natural Foods! Hailing from Moose Jaw, Mitchell’s brings a variety of chemical-free veggies to market. Garden-fresh produce, guaranteed! To learn more about the flok program, click here.
As you can see, tomorrow’s market should be exceptionally special, which is why it’s especially fitting that we are dedicating to our longtime friend, Summer Hartzfeld. Hope to see you all at the market tomorrow!
