40 Years of RFM; 40 Best Customers - #5

In celebration of the RFM’s 40th Anniversary, we’re giving our vendors the opportunity to nominate and reward Best Customers. This allows our vendors to show appreciation for special customers that have supported them on their endeavours. Not every day is an amazing day at the Market, but these customers show up rain-or-shine.

40 years is a long time for any organization to be around, and it’s a lot of time for things to grow stagnant. RFM, however, is still thriving; we have never been more relevant and more loved than we are today. The Market family continues to grow along with customer attendance. We owe this success to the City of Regina, Regina Downtown, our vendors, and most importantly, our customers.

Please allow us to show our gratitude to 40 people in representation of thousands, with our only regret being that we can’t reward each and every person that takes the time to visit us, whether it’s once a week or once a year. Thank you.

Our fifth Best Customer has been nominated by Over the Hill Orchards.

5. Liam

  • lives in Regina

  • works downtown

  • believes buying local is vital to our economy

Liam has been shopping at RFM for three years and visits at least once a week. His favourite thing to buy is strawberries. When Over the Hill Orchards has strawberries in season, I’m sure Liam can’t leave the booth without a container or two.

If Liam doesn’t eat all of his purchases before he gets home, he often worries that he might have to share. To hide tasty things from his family, Liam will put them in the freezer (perhaps wrapped in brown paper and labeled as “liver”, but he didn't say for sure).

In Liam’s opinion, the best season to shop at RFM is autumn. It’s this time of year that we seem to have a wide variety of products available; you can still find herbs and lettuce amongst root vegetables and squash.

If Liam was a vendor at RFM, he would sell “all kinds of food”. I’m guessing that a few types of strawberries could be found on his table.

What does Sylvia think of her Best Customer?

“Liam buys fresh and frozen fruit from us every week. His support has been amazing and he inspires others to shop at our booth as well.”

Thank you, Liam, for being a Best Customer!
