One of our own, one of our best, sadly gone.

One of our own, one of our best, sadly gone.

On Friday April 5th, 2013 Edward Schropp of Linda’s Jams and Jellies passed away suddenly from a heart attack. The family will have a private graveside service. A celebration of Eddie's life will be held at the Silton Community Center, Thursday, April 11th, 2013 at 2pm.

Ed and Linda have been Members of the Market for over 26 years. Ed served on the Board of Directors of the RFM for at least a dozen of those years, possibly more. He was considered a friend to all and listened fairly to each side of the discussions. When I came to Market, I found a gentleman who would never fail to offer help to his fellow Members and me. He fixed the table truck for the Members, repaired tables during the Winter, put together our office furniture, put up tables at the indoor Markets, and helped vendors with their tents more times than I can count. He was a good man with close relationships with many Members in our Market.

I remember so many happy times when I think of Eddie. I will remember his generosity and his kindness. I can’t help but think of him, his wife Linda, and his daughter Carmela smiling at their booth. He was the center of a joyful family. I believe he knew what the true contentment in life was, a close family. Every time his granddaughters came to Market they got a $5 money handshake to spend at the Market. He fostered this belief in family with the Market Members too. He was always so excited when a new Member came to Market and couldn’t wait to try their treats!

There are too many things I could say about this amazing Member and person. You will be so missed Ed, by so many. Markets will not be the same without you here. We are thinking of you and your family, Linda, at this difficult time. Ada
