40 Years of RFM; 40 Best Customers - #20

Dolores of D’licious Treats has experienced two sides of RFM; she is a vendor and has also been on the Board of Directors. She takes pride in the quality and presentation of her baking, and is happiest when her products bring smiles to customers’ faces. Dolores’ Best Customers are:

20. David & George

  • residents of Regina

  • David is retired

  • George worked at SaskJobs for 35 years

David and George have been attending RFM for many years, David for 18 and George for 12! They love much of what is offered at RFM, with a particular liking for pickles and fresh vegetables. After checking everything off their grocery list, David and George always stop at D’licious treats to satisfy their craving for sweets. The Peppermint Clouds are a favourite during the holiday season.

According to David and George, summer is the best season to shop at RFM. They enjoy the wide variety of products, friendly people and warm summer weather. David is quite fond of being retired, while George said he may like to sell tomatoes if he ever became a market vendor.

Dolores enjoys visiting with her Best Customers on a regular basis, but had never asked David and George what attracted them to her booth in the first place. The Best Customer questionnaire offered Dolores the opportunity to ask, and David and George replied, “[Dolores] looked friendly, pleasant and [her] display was very nice. Pretty. [We] just had to come over to see what [she] was selling.”

What does Dolores think of her Best Customers?

“David and George are just very nice people. They were my second customers at my very first market and they have supported me ever since. I am so pleased that I was able to nominate them.”

Thank you, David and George, for being Best Customers!

Dee

In celebration of the RFM’s 40th Anniversary, we’re giving our vendors the opportunity to nominate and reward Best Customers. This allows our vendors to show appreciation for special customers that have supported them on their endeavours. Not every day is an amazing day at the Market, but these customers show up rain-or-shine.

40 years is a long time for any organization to be around, and it’s a lot of time for things to grow stagnant. RFM, however, is still thriving; we have never been more relevant and more loved than we are today. The Market family continues to grow along with customer attendance. We owe this success to the City of Regina, Regina Downtown, our vendors, and most importantly, our customers.

Please allow us to show our gratitude to 40 people in representation of thousands, with our only regret being that we can’t reward each and every person that takes the time to visit us, whether it’s once a week or once a year. Thank you.
