Regina Open Door Society - Newcomer Programming Available!
About the Regina Open Door Society:
The Regina Open Door Society (RODS) is a non-profit organization that provides settlement and integration services to refugees and immigrants in Regina. RODS is committed to meeting the needs of newcomers by offering programs and services that enable them to achieve their goals and participate fully in the larger community.
At the Regina Farmers' Market, we recognize the value of welcoming newcomers to our Regina community and are happy to promote the services that are available to those who are new to our community. Whether folks are joining the Regina Farmers' Market to work on a vendors farm, or setting up their own vendor booth to share flavours of their home country, the RFM is a community space for all to feel welcome and supported.
Some of the programming available from Regina Open Door Society:
Employment support, School registration, Settlement in Regina, life skills, Language Instruction programs, Orientations to different components like Fire Safety, Traffic rules in the city, preparing for citizenship test, filing tax, Kids diet, hygiene and young parent training, Homework help, volunteer placement and much more. RODS is a non-profit organization and we support newcomers, immigrants and refugees in their settlement and integration to Regina (free of cost).
Most recently they have also launched a new program with funding specific to helping folks with covid-19 relief.
