Street Beets August 29th, 2015: Martha's Garden, Gluten Free Bread and Vendor Map

Matha's Garden is one of our newest vendors at RFM, and they're beginning to make a splash. They specialize in pesticide-free rare and heirloom varieties of vegetables. So far, we've seen purple-podded peas, dragon's egg cucumbers, Paris market carrots, and traveler tomatoes. Martha's Garden plans to bring more peculiar veggies to Market, such as mouse melons, black edamame and red noodle beans. Pictured here are little heirloom tomatoes, with names like "indigo kumquat" and "purple bumblebee". Pay close attention to this vendor!

Shown here are two slices of multigrain bread from Alison Caza, a popular baker at RFM. You may be surprised to know that this bread is actually gluten free. As you can see, the texture and colour doesn't give it away. Alison uses a blend of gluten free flours in order to achieve a pleasing consistency and flavour. There's more than bread at Alison's table; she provides muffins, cookies, cakes, buns, and pies in gluten free and diabetic versions. Visit her on Scarth St, Saturdays only.

CLICK HERE for the Vendor Map. Zoom in to read names. We have Bon Burger, Soup Simply, Mr. Spudd's Poutinerie, Prairie Dawg, and Nacho Fiesta for food trucks. Mother Hubbard's Cupboard is in attendance. The Flour Shoppe is not. Find Pusch Bros. on Scarth St.

See you at Market!
