Street Beets May 22nd, 2015: Southland Colony Chickens and Eggs!

Tomorrow is the Cathedral Arts Festival Street Fair. When I took over years ago as the Manager, I got all my experience as the Street Fair Coordinatoer for 8 years before that. It was an education! I learned how to make an event grow and add fun to it for everyone. Whenever I walk into the Cathedral area, I still meet up with people that I worked with on this committee. There are a great number of hours that go into making events successful, I hope you get a chance to come out to both of our events. Many of our vendors will be running two booths tomorrow.

Southland Colony comes out for their first Market of 2015. Pictured above is one of their chickens and their carrots. They will be bringing chickens ranging from 3 to 7 lbs. It is nice this time of year to have a choice of sizes. I cannot stress enough what beautiful chickens they raise. The chickens are whole, they have plenty of breast meat, and are so delicious. They will also have a great deal of eggs, which is good as there aren't many from our other sellers right now. They have a great store of carrots and potatoes to round out your chicken dinner!

Living Sky Winery is bringing in the year's first Apple Wine, actually it is technically last year's wine aged to perfection. If you haven't had a chance at Floating Gardens products, they are coming in for their first Saturday. The greenhouse is putting out lovely fresh herbs, salad greens, tomatoes, and edible flowers. Just amazing! If you were missing your Ef Zeen Greek Foods, they are in tomorrow. I find myself to be a fan of their lemon dilled dolmathes! Yummy! Here is the May 23rd Plaza Map. See you tomorrow!
