Meet our 2021 Board of Directors!
Get to know the vendors who run the volunteer board behind our co-operative!
President - Jeff Kinash of Peregrine Farm
When he isn't managing our board, Jeff runs Peregrine Farm, his family homestead near Wishart, SK. Known for their chicken, Jeff says that he first introduced poultry into his farm to provide fertility for his garden and before he knew it, his chicken became one of his farm’s most popular products. Jeff jokes that his birds are "high on grass, low on drugs" because they are pasture raised, free-roaming, and GMO, hormone, and antibiotic-free.
We are so glad that Jeff stepped up to lead the board this season!
Vice-President - Laurie Kitsch of The Cookie Lady
Laurie owns The Cookie Lady, one of the longest-standing businesses at the Regina Farmers’ Market, with her husband Glen. Having been a vendor at the market for the past 27 years, Laurie’s delicious and fun cookies and amazing baking have been enjoyed by generations of market customers.
Laurie has extensive experience as a Board Member with the Regina Farmers’ Market. She has previously served 6 years on the Board, including one year as Vice-President and one year as President. She also chaired the Human Resource Committee during that time. Laurie has also contributed to the well-being of the market as a member of the Application Committee for several years.
Treasurer - Destiny Williams of Hillside Food Inc
Destiny is the owner and operator of Hillside Foods along with her husband Shane. Run in Duval SK, Hillside Foods has been a vendor at the market since 2019, offering high quality produce, grown in an ethical and sustainable manner, as well as an array of cured meats, charcuterie, canned and preserved goods.
In addition to her culinary background ,Destiny has a Bachelor of Commerce with an accounting specialization and worked for four years in an accounting firm. Destiny also has valuable experience sitting as a Board member, as she has served on the Strasbourg daycare board for two years and is a member of their budget committee.
Secretary - Rebecca Fercho of Miller's By-Gone Farm
Rebecca Fercho is part of the family owned and operated Miller’s By-gone Farms near Whitewood, SK. They have been at the RFM as vendors for 8 years offering a variety of produce, plant starts, eggs and wide range of products from their lambs and goats. Previously, her Mom Pam Miller has served on the RFM Board and also served as the Secretary. 2021 marks Rebecca's second year on the board!
Member-at-Large - Larry Gall of Going With the Grain
Larry has been selling his baked goods through Going with the Grain at the Regina Farmers’ Market for almost nine years. His fresh baked bread products are a
staple for many customers and also has operated a very popular food truck: Larry's Bread Machine. Larry is in his second year on the RFM Board. Beyond his years of experience as a business owner and RFM vendor, Larry also worked in the field of process improvement and has a Bachelor of Science (Computer Science).
Fun Larry Fact: He once jumped off Hill Tower!
Member-at-Large - Kathleen Larkin of Nana K's British Pies
Kathleen is in her third year as a Regina Farmers’ Market vendor. As the sole operator of Nana K’s British Pies, she sells her savoury pies and other British
specialties at the RFM and also through online sales. She grew up in England and now shares an acreage with her daughter's family.
This is her second year on the board. Outside of the market she works full-time for the provincial government. Her experience in the public and private sector at the municipal, provincial and federal level is of benefit to the RFM board.
Member-at-Large - Jamie Lavalley of Amber Rayne Designs
Jamie has been bringing her colourful handmade jewellery to the Regina Farmers’ Market for five years. This is her third year on the Board of Directors. She has a background the health care field which she brings to the board, ensuring decisions are fair and inclusive.
Member-at-Large - Creighton Widdis of Angela's Own Homestyle Originals
Creighton is the fiancee and partner of "Angela" herself! As a family business, their booth is often full of helpers. At the market, they offer a large variety of dip and soup mixes as well as tasty nuts and bolts snack mixes. Outside of the market, Creighton works in customer support!
Member-at-Large - Jena Womack of The Good Dog
Jena and her co-owner Robin started The Good Dog after the loss of both of their dogs to cancer. Personal tragedy led them to investigate the food they had been using for their pets. They knew that good health comes from the inside so they did their research, took courses, and listened to the advice of holistic veterinarians, and together they came up with an incredible lineup of products.
Jena is a people person with a background in the customer service industry — that's where she met Robin!
