Street Beets May 15th, 2015: Kilts and Local Products, Here Comes the Highland Games!
Tomorrow we share the Plaza with the Highland Games! It is the first time this event will be held. It will take up practically the whole Victoria Park! Some of the female vendors are understandably quite thrilled to hear this news. If you are interested in getting a real Scottish vendor's products to try at home, visit Craibstone Cheese for their Sheep's Milk Cheeses. The products they make are surprisingly creamy and mild. Here is the map, there are a few changes due to the fencing going up for parts of their event. You can just press the + sign to zoom in on these PDFs.
As you can see above, Rose from Fishley Farms was the first one to get green onions on the Plaza this year. She is the last of the founding Members of the RFM. She had a big smile and was happy to accept my heartfelt congratulations. All this valuable experience. She often tells me what Markets were like years ago, she likes the way we do them now.
Rusty's Wild Rice has not been in for a while. His lady friend Sam will be running the booth tommorrow, and who knows maybe Flayla the Pup will make an appearance? Dawson's dog is more famous than he is with her own account on twitter account.
I hope this weather starts improving. The basil needs lots of heat, and the produce will come in later. It would be nice to have some warm Markets! Let's get out there anyways. There is great hot food and yummy local comfort foods for you take home. See you tomorrow at 9am! Ada
