The weather is finally warming up!

With the forecast promising a high of -16 this Saturday, it'll practically feel like spring after all the extreme cold we've endured! What a great day to join us at the farmers' market... and why not bring your skates along? Our friends at the Al Ritchie Community Centre (ARCA) maintain the Gockie Park outdoor rink, and the heated shack is open Saturdays during market from 9am to noon.

Not only that, but ARCA accepts donations of gently used skates, clothes, and many small household items for folks in the community that need a helping hand. You can drop your donations off at ARCA's booth every Saturday. 

Know Your Farmer ... Live on Location!

This week's featured Know Your Farmer producer is Chris Buhler, one half of sibling-owned hydroponic greenhouse Floating Gardens.

As usual, Floating Gardens WILL be at the farmers' market this Saturday with their gorgeous assortment of lettuces, microgreens, and fresh herbs. But unfortunately Chris himself won't be able to make it down to Regina this weekend.

So we've decided to go to him! Know Your Farmer will be broadcast LIVE from Floating Gardens in Osler SK on Friday, February 15 at 10am. Visit the RFM Facebook Page to tune in!

Chris will tell us all about what it takes to grow fresh green things in Saskatchewan in February, and we'll take a tour of the Floating Gardens greenhouse.

Help a seamstress out

Our favourite local seamstress, Les of Dressed by Les, is making her first farmers' market appearance of 2019 this Saturday. She'll be testing out a brand new product, and she needs your help!

Les has been working on a new design for a wrap skirt with pockets and flexible sizing (sizes range from 23" to 52" waists). The prototypes are now ready for testing, and she needs some skirt wearers to try them on! Pop by Les' table this Saturday and try on a skirt (you don't even need to change to do it), and for your trouble take away a card for 10% off a future purchase.

RFM Kids' Club Craft Brings the Summer Vibes!

Do you remember seeing this cool little purple dude hanging out at the market? He's a regular at the Regina Farmers' Market during eggplant season and he always brings the summer vibes. This week at the RFM Kids' Club we'll be paying homage to this unofficial Floating Gardens mascot by crafting our own sunglass-wearing eggplants! RFM Kids' Club offers a free activity for all from 9am-1pm every Saturday at the Core Ritchie!

The people have spoken, and the 2018 Regina Farmers' Market People's Choice Award goes to (drumroll please)...

El Tropezón -Food Truck! HUGE congratulations to Roberto and Valeria. We love your delicious Mexican products, and clearly we're not the only ones!

Help El Tropezon celebrate at the farmers' market this Saturday, where they will be set up from 9am to 1pm. If you've never tried their food, there is no better time! They'll have tamales (frozen), salsas, tortilla chips and more!
