Market Day
Jul 1, 2017
Canada Day Market
Yes, there WILL be a market on July 1st! The holiday ends up on a Saturday this year, but that won't stop our regular market schedule. We'll be on the Plaza, as usual, from 9 am to 1 pm.
In addition to the Canada Day market, Regina Downtown Business Improvement District (RDBID) has Canada 150 events planned for the WHOLE DAY! There will be plenty of entertainment and giveaways, so feel free to spend Canada day downtown. Check out the schedule of events below.
I get it, 9 am on a Saturday is pretty early...but if you're going to make it downtown for Canada Day, make sure you're at the stage on the west side of the Plaza by 11 am for the Chef's Challenge! Terry Sellinger (Fat Badger), Trevor Maghoo (flip), and Chris Torjusen (Malt City), will be competing for the title. All 3 chefs will be given $100 in Market Money and 30 minutes to source all of the ingredients for their farmers' market dish. Then, they have 1 hour to cook before a panel of local celebrity judges will decide on the winning dish!
Sharon's Pies and More
Sharon's baking has been a staple at the market for many years, and she's gained quite a following of customers as a result. Keeping up with market baking and custom orders during the summer is hard work, so Sharon's schedule has been adjusted in recent years. For those who have been waiting, Sharon's Pies and More will be attending most Saturday markets from tomorrow (July 1) until October 14.
